Romeo and Juliet began at a moment when the idea was there, but the words and images would not come together. Then a song played — and something unlocked.
Music often becomes the starting point for ZeTrunk’s visual journaling. Rather than slowing fast-moving thoughts down into neat lines of writing, Ze responds through colour, imagery, words and instinct. The artwork becomes a way to capture a feeling while it is still alive.
For Romeo and Juliette, the song opened the door to an interpretation of intense, consuming love: romantic, dramatic and full of emotional energy. The finished piece is not intended as a literal illustration of the song. It is Ze’s visual response to what the music released in that moment.
